Lifelong is currently seeking volunteers interested in becoming Substitute Food Delivery Drivers for the Chicken Soup Brigade Food Program. Sub drivers will be contacted in the case that a regular driver is unable to cover a route. Sub drivers must be able to commit to at least one delivery shift per month. We email you, and if you can pick up a shift then simply respond to the email. If not, no worries! Just ignore the email.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain confidentiality and follow Lifelong AIDS Alliance delivery policies and procedures. • Provide accurate and timely food delivery to clients on a designated route. • Report missed deliveries (clients not at home) and changes in client status to Distribution Coordinator. • Record weekly hours. • Assist in training new volunteers or subs. • Do not perform any tasks for clients outside of delivering food. • Substitute drivers will be emailed open delivery shifts every week via email. Respond to email if interested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Good organizational and communication skills. • Must have a current driver's license and proof of liability insurance. • Ability to follow directions and read maps. • Strict adherence to client confidentiality and professionalism. • General knowledge of the Lifelong AIDS Alliance food program. • Ability to safely lift 30lbs. • Must be flexible, prompt and reliable. • Must give at least 2 weeks notice for vacation/ leave of absence/resignation. • Comfortable working with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and racial diversity.
