The L.I.N.C. (Long-term Inmates Now in the Community) Society (www.lincsociety.bc.ca located in Mission, British Columbia is looking for people who are interested in being trained as citizen escorts and be available to take prisoners out to our agricultural social enterprise Emma's Acres. The Society has escorts from federal prisons six days a week to the farm-Monday to Saturday 8am to 4pm.

Who Do You Take Out on Escort?

People who are serving a federal prison sentence which means two years or more. These people have been screened by L.I.N.C., the institution they are in and in most cases the Parole Board of Canada before they are allowed out.

Qualifications

This person must be a Canadian citizen.

This person will need a driver's license and a vehicle (although you will be using an institutional vehicle)

This volunteer will need to fill out the paperwork to be a volunteer citizen escort and provide a driver's abstract

This volunteer will need to be enhanced security clearance

This volunteer will need to take the volunteer and citizen escort training by the Correctional Service of Canada.

This volunteer will need no criminal records within the last 5 years.

You must be reliable and consistent. You must be able to escort a minimum of one day a week. We require two personal references.
