Space in our program is limited, especially in the summer, so although there is no deadline and applications are considered throughout the year, interested applicants should apply as early as possible.
Join us in the field in Panama!
Working with Floating Doctors provides clinical training unavailable anywhere in the world, with high numbers of patients across a wide range of presentations. Community Health, holistic approaches to patients, clinical examination and diagnosis, teamwork and coordination of field activities, and consulting across cultural and language barriers in remote, resource-limited environments are a unique opportunity for clinicians and trainees. Volunteers return to their home country with an invaluable clinical skill set and humanitarian focus to add to their practice, benefiting patients at home and in future international medical practice.
Applicants may be any doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner or student, physician's assistant or student, physio or occupational therapists or trainees, medical students or residents, public health specialists, educators, etc. We also happily accept any non-medical volunteers with advanced Spanish fluency. Exceptions are regularly made for other sub-specialties or volunteers from other disciplines, so all are welcome to apply.
