Volunteer Opportunity description

MLK Day of Service 2013

Monday, January 21, 2013 9:00 am – 1:30 pm Bennett Kew Elementary School, 11710 South Cherry Avenue, Inglewood, California, 90303

Martin Luther King Jr. believed that, "everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." On January 21, 2013 Playworks Southern California will celebrate the life of MLK by beautifying an Inglewood elementary school. The purpose is to unite the communities of Southern California with a day filled with painting, planting flowers, games for children and adults to play, raffles to win awesome prizes, and food to buy.

How to apply

We have 30 slots reserved for MLK Day 2013. They will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish to participate, please an email with your full name. Each volunteer who reserves a spot will be allowed to bring their children to the service day. We will be having a separate "kid's schedule" where the kids will get to do their own artwork and games to play with some of our Playworks' coaches. If you wish to bring your son(s)/daughter(s), please include their full name and age in your email as well.
