Volunteer Opportunity description

SONATI is a Nicaraguan non-profit environmental education organization, dedicated to promote knowledge, love & care toward the environment through free environmental programs for thousands of local children.

We are now looking for a volunteer to teach our guides and local women in rural communities how to make handicarfts out of recycling materials. The project has double objectives:

1. Recycling and reduce garbage at the rural community Santa Rosa de Los Parrales.

2. Increase income for rural women with very limited economic resources.

Volunteering period: the necessary time to transfer this knowledge, probably about 2 weeks.

Free accommodation is available at the community, but volunteer will be required to pay for the minimum costs of food, water and electricity (U$ 7 / day - for 3 meals a day, and use of electricity and water).
