Many street dogs die and kill every month around the world. Work with us to create a healty street dog population.
The Kathmandu city government used to poison more than 10,000 street dogs each year with strychnine, in an attempt to control the street dog population. This is a horrific form of death, throwing the dogs into violent seizures for up to nine hours before they die. The poison is scattered on the streets in lumps of meat, where it is a danger to children (who often play in the streets) and people's pets.
Volunteer with us to help street dogs get a better helath and home in Kathmandu.
How Can you help:
Help us at the centre in Nepal and improve the lives of street dogs! You can help in a wide variety of ways. We are in need of veterinarians, vet students, and vet techs/nurses, as well as non-technical volunteers. You can also give foster care to animals in your home.
