Uganda youth and women's effort Efforts fighting AIDS needs your help! We are looking for volunteer(s) to help coordinate our fundraising initiatives. We need one or more people to help us:

  • Create and nurture relationships with donors and businesses.
  • Find and plan fundraising opportunities in conjunction with other Coordinators.
  • Publicize fundraisers with Communications team.
  • Maintain lists and fundraising software database.

Would you be interested in helping us with any of these tasks? You can take on as little or as much as you like - any help is appreciated and welcome! Much of this could be done from your home, but some traveling for meetings would of course be needed.

Uganda Youth Women's Effort Fighting AIDS is a registered community based organization that serves Kazo, Uganda. Established in 2007 to address the needs of people in the community living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, UYWEFA offers a variety of services. Tailoring and candle making training are offered for vulnerable women, as well as business management techniques to run successful small business. UYWEFA provides youth activities that include HIV awareness campaigns through lectures, drama programs and film making. UYWEFA also offers adult literacy education as well as running the UYWEFA International Education Centre. The Coordinator for Grassroots fundraising will coordinate and support marketing, fundraising and event efforts for the Grassroots Fundraising Team. The Coordinator will lead the day-to-day operations of UYWEFA international education centre by managing volunteer communications as well as assist with campaign fulfillment; acknowledgement mailings and post-campaign close out. In addition, the Coordinator will take a lead role of UYWEFA programs in Uganda, and support personal and youth fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead volunteer recruiter/customer service manager for grassroots fundraising programs including UYWEFA international Education Centre, personal fundraising, and special projects. Provide and oversee quality customer service via phone, mail and email communications including responding personally to more challenging participant needs.
  • Potential to recruit, train, supervise, motivate and acknowledge Grassroots Fundraising intern.
  • Input donor and gift information into UYWEFA database; Ensuring gift batches and team gifts are coded correctly; generate gift queries, gift acknowledgements and other UYWEFA reports, as needed.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports that coordinate with Raiser's Edge reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Report Required Skills:

.

  • 1-2 years of experience in fundraising/volunteer activities at the grassroots level. .
  • Raisers Edge Database experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Volunteer management experience.
  • Good systematic and organizational skills.
  • Must be proactive.
  • Possess high energy, enthusiasm and commitment to fight against childhood hunger.
