Volunteers in Christian Appalachian Project's thrift storehelp give our customers a shopping experience that respects their dignity and provides affordable clothing and household items to low-income families in Eastern Kentucky. Volunteers collaborate with employees and participants to keep the store clean and organized, sort donations, and perform retail functions.
Christian Appalachian Project is a nonprofit human services organization serving people in need in Appalachia. Our mission depends on dedicated volunteers who come from accross the country to serve in our programs. Short-term volunteers serve a minimum of three weeks and receive room and board. Long-term volunteers serve one year and receive room and board, health insurance, a monthly stipend, and vacation time.
Volunteer application available at www.christianapp.org/vol. Application includes three references and a background check.
