Volunteer Opportunity description

Did you know, according to the California Department of Education, over 40% of California students are falling behind in English and Math?

You can help change these statistics! Become a tutor.

The Sonoma County Family YMCA seeks tutors to help elementary and middle school students with homework. The Y seeks individuals who are passionate about making a difference, and would like to help youth. Tutors work side-by-side with Y teachers, mentoring and inspiring kids to love learning!

Volunteers tutor at programs in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Rohnert Park and Cotati.

Volunteers are crucial to the Y's mission to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Volunteering with the Y is a great opportunity to gain experience working with youth, develop skills and have fun while giving back.
