Recruiting a Volunteer Communications Director who is responsible for managing the communications initiatives, marketing and public relations activities for a nonprofit rescue organization. Seeking a detail oriented individual who enjoys working with people to lead our volunteer social media and public relations team. Our organization has a strong regional presence and has had news stories and events that have been featured on national news.
OPH Rescue is a nonprofit dog rescue organization operating throughout the DC/Northern Virginia/MD and southern PA area. In 2015, we rescued over 1200 dogs from high kill shelters throughout the south. We are involved in community events, education and outreach, and community/corporate partnerships - on top of our mission of saving dogs. To that end, OPH Rescue has grown into a dynamic dog rescue organization in five years and the growth keeps coming! As a result, we need a motivated leader to join our organization!
We are looking for a go-getter who will help us capitalize on the current status of our social media, PR, news and communication events and to take us to the next level. The ideal candidate will be an organized, a creative problem solver, have an ability to multitask, and have excellent communication skills. We need a leader to help bridge the gap between the incredible efforts of our volunteers and the public news and media outlets. This Director will work directly with senior management and the PR Team to engage the public and to share amazing OPH stories with news, media sources, our sponsors and OPH partners.
If this Director is successful, we are happy to explore turning this position into a salaried, paid position.
