Film Festival Staff Volunteer

  • Brooklyn, NY, US

Email thelorenzomarcos@gmail.com with your resume and which position you would prefer. When your application is received, our Volunteer Coordinator, Lorenzo, will get in touch with you for a brief interview via telephone.

We will be having a Volunteer Orientation Meeting on June 3 @ 7PM at St Francis College that you must attend.

The Sixth Annual Art of Brooklyn Film Festival is looking for volunteers to join our festival staff!

We have (3) different positions available for volunteers. Shifts are generally about 5 hours. *Please indicate which position you are most interested in and I will do my best to accommodate your requests.*

1) Concessions/Merch: Our Concessions and Merch Volunteers will be stationed outside of the theatres during screenings and are responsible for selling snacks, refreshments, and film festival merchandise. You will be handling both cash and credit cards in this position. Your customers are also our filmmakers and audience members, so great customer service is very important!

2) Ticketing: Ticketing Volunteers are responsible for both selling tickets and collecting pre-purchased tickets. You will also learn how to check in VIP Pass holders and Complimentary Ticket holders. This job involves both cash and credit handling and great customer service skills are a plus!

3) Ushers/Runners: This position will cover a little bit of everything. Just prior to screenings, we will have our ushers direct audience members to the theaters. During screenings you will be positioned at the theatre doors to ensure that if anyone has to leave or come back, the door can open quickly and quietly so that the screenings are not disturbed. Before screenings, this position may require you to do some minor errand work to get last minute tasks done (print things, buy supplies, etc).

Please email thelorenzomarcos@gmail.com with your resume and which position you would prefer. When your application is received, our Volunteer Coordinator, Lorenzo, will get in touch with you for a brief interview via telephone.

Please note that all of these positions require you to be able to travel to Brooklyn, specifically Brooklyn Heights, Bay Ridge, and Fort Greene areas. If traveling to these areas is an issue, please do not apply.

This is an unpaid position, however when you are not working a shift you are free to attend any screening as long as there are seats available.
