Youth Assisting Youth, a United Way member agency, is a non-profit charitable organization that provides mentoring and tutoring services for newcomer and at risk youth 6 - 15 years old. We need volunteers (especially guys) 16-29 years old, who are willing to help these youth realize their full potential.

Volunteer positions are available throughout:

1. North York:(Bathurst & Steeles, Yonge & Finch, Jane & Sheppard, Don Mills & Sheppard)
2. Etobicoke:(Kipling & Rexdale, Jane & Lawrence, 427 & Rathburn, Kipling & Lakeshore)
3. Scarborough:(Markham & Eglinton, Warden & Eglinton, Kennedy & Finch, McCowan & Sheppard)
4. Toronto:(Black Creek & Eglinton, Gerrard & Jones, Victoria Park & Danforth, Dufferin & Bloor)
5. Richmond Hill & Vaughan:(Bathurst & Centre, Yonge & Major MacKenzie, Dufferin & Rutherford, Bayview & Elgin Mills)

Volunteers will provide guidance, support, homework help, coaching and leadership to youth on a one-to-one basis or in groups like after school programs or academic, recreational or artistic activities. Attend attractions, professional sports events, etc. together. FREE passes/tickets provided (Blue Jays, Raptors, Argonauts, etc.). Scholarships are available. Comprehensive training provided. Young professionals and post secondary students/grads preferred. Bilingual volunteers needed.

Qualifications:

1. 16 - 29 years old.
2. Able to provide two professional references; (i.e. professor, employer, etc.).
3. Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening and interview
4. Able to commit to 3 hours a week on your own schedule for a year.
5. Second language (i.e. Mandarin, Farsi, Spanish, Russian, etc.) preferred but not required.
