The mission of the Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) is to provide an immediate solution to the urgent problem of hunger by providing food to people in need, teaching them to eat nutritiously, and helping them to find sustainable ways to improve their lives. We provide hunger relief and nutrition education for agencies serving families, children/youth, senior citizens and the homeless in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties. The Network Assessment and Evaluation Assistant AmeriCorps VISTA will work with FBSJ Programs and Services team to use data and network evaluations to produce training modules and program modifications that will enable the FBSJ to better fulfill its mission. The applicants should have excellent research skills and be able to communicate proficiently with people of diverse backgrounds. Spanish language skills are a major plus.
The Network Assessment and Evaluation AmeriCorps VISTA will provide community outreach and assist with training for the Food Bank's new initiative in going paper free by using a new web-based data entry program called Oasis Insight. Oasis Insight is a web application for shared case management used to gather and report statistical data for resource development, strategic planning, measuring outcomes, reducing duplication and providing quick disaster relief. As the Network Assessment and Evaluation VISTA you will: 1) Identify agencies not yet using Oasis, 2) Train agencies to use Oasis to support their services and track outcomes, 3) Maintain data collection and training tracking spreadsheets and, 4) Conduct field reviews and provide technical assistance to partners. This VISTA will need the ability to travel daily to FBSJ main office in Pennsauken, NJ.
