Work together with other local DC area residents, like you, in their 20's and 30's, to help students in DC Public Schools reach their full potential. Together the Young Professional's Council helps CIS of the Nation's Capital empower at-risk students in DC Public Schools to stay in school and achieve in life through three focus areas:
Program Needs and Volunteering: YPC members work as a group and individually to help CIS students through supply drives, volunteering at school-based events, and identifying resources and partnerships to meet site coordinator requests for incentives, etc.
Social Media Outreach: Utilizing their own social networks, YPC members help to raise awareness of CIS and engage the community in our work.
Fundraising: YPC members support the fundraising efforts of CIS through making a direct contribution, participating in peer-to-peer online fundraising campaigns, and helping to organize small fundraising events, such as happy hours.
If accepted as a YPC member, you will get the opportunity to be a leader in your community, interact with board and community leaders, network, learn new skills and have a fulfilling volunteer experience.
