Volunteer Opportunity description

The CAPAL Public Interest Legal Counsel will work under the Board of Directors to perform the following tasks:

1) Ensure that CAPAL is operating in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

2) Review legal and contractual agreements.

3) Perform official filings, including filings to maintain CAPAL's 501(c)(3) status.

4) Advise the Board of Directors on other legal issues as applicable.

This position is a volunteer position for lawyers in the D.C. metropolitan area.

QUALIFICATIONS Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to public service, including service to the Asian Pacific American community, are strongly preferred. Additionally, candidates must be willing to serve the entirety of the one year term.
