The College Bound Program at Chess-in-the-Schools is an after-school, youth development program, dedicated to helping at risk youth gain access to top colleges and universities.
Our volunteer tutors work closely with the College-Bound Students from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays throughout the school year. During this time, they are assigned a student to help him or her with homework, study skills, standardized test prep and Regents exams. Tutors work on all subjects including Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry, US History, Global History, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, and English.
Your work as a tutor for the College Bound Program will help students become more confident in their academic abilities and shape the students they become forever! Successful tutors are enthusiastic, organized, and patient—you need not be a teacher.
All tutoring is done at our office, conveniently located at 520 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10018.
For more information on how to become a tutor, please contact Danielle Hayman at dhayman@chessintheschools.orgor 646-688-0732.
