Did you know that more than 1 in 3 students in the San Francisco Unified School District come from non-English speaking families?
Our Bilingual Volunteer team provides interpretation for various school meetings and parent-teacher conferences, as well as native-language academic support to English-learning students. At least 40 San Francisco Public Schools benefited from our services last school year. However, the budget cuts mean volunteers are needed now more than ever! If you are bilingual in Cantonese/English or Spanish/English, please join us!
*Final training for the 2012-2013 school year is February 23*
Benefits:
• A great opportunity to give back to the community and make a meaningful impact in the lives of English-learning students and their families!
• Free, high-quality interpretation training led by a professional trainer, as well as other on-going learning opportunities to support the position.
• Publications, career and resume building opportunities and references upon request.
• Social events to meet and celebrate with other school volunteers
