Have you ever dreamed of spending your summer vacation in a foreign land? Are you the type of person who is excited by a challenge? Do you enjoy helping others? If so, volunteering abroad may be the alternative school break you are looking for! No longer reserved for college students or graduates, high school students now too can participate in programs in Haiti, volunteering in a variety of aspects.

SAVE THEIR LIVES has a number of different project development areas. Choose to volunteer in environmental and conservation research, building projects, teaching and education, community development, child care, sports coaching and we have many excellent medical and health placements for those with experience or studying medicine or a related health science.

We provide all of the necessary means for having a wonderful travel experience from start to finish.

Your summer vacation trip should be the time of your life; full of nonstop action, working, tropical beaches, awesome pool parties, and exciting night events.

Our onsite supervisors are dedicated to ensuring that every facet of the trip is safe and that our travelers are always in a position where they feel comfortable.

Project Facts

• Duration: 1 week to 1 year

• Cost: $350.00 ($1200) for 4 weeks, ($250) for each week thereafter

• Requirements: Age 14+ • Project activities: Educating, health care, micro credit project, community development, organic farm, construction and renovation projects, feeding and playing with the children

• Working hours: 8.30-2.30pm Monday - Friday

• Project Availability: Year-Round. What is included:

• Accommodation: Home stay with hot, running water, and electricity, Wi-fi Internet, free unlimited calls at home to call USA, Canada and Mexico

• Insurance

• Food: 3 meals per day – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

• Airport pick-up/Drop off

• Training: Pre-departure pack, on-site orientation and project induction included • Support: 24-hour staff support

• All volunteers are given a local phone with 100 minutes weekly to call USA, Canada and Mexico.

• Activities: Staff helps organize evening and weekend activities.

Do not carry open containers in public

Do not litter

Be respectful of the local people and their homes

Look both ways before crossing the street

Don't buy, use or sell drugs

Drugs are illegal in Haiti and such laws are strictly enforced

Abide by the rules at beaches and pools

Do NOT go on the beaches or swim at night

No diving in the pools

Follow all rules posted at the pool or on the beach

Swim at your own risk when a lifeguard is not on duty

Follow any flags or posting markers on the beach; these are used to warn you about dangerous tides, harsh water conditions, or any other condition the beach patrol determines to be risky

Follow these travel tips

Be respectful to all citizens of the country or destination you are visiting

Drink a lot of bottled water

Wear sun block at all times

Do not leave the volunteering area

Call home and let your loved ones know you have arrived safely

Write all your credit card numbers down in case you need to reference them
