We are looking for bright, passionate professionals who are willing to volunteer their time and energy for a worthy cause and make a difference in the local multi cultural community. Individuals should be creative, open to new ideas, be a team player and have a strong work ethic. As this nonprofit is 100% volunteer based, everyone on the Steering Committee have busy day jobs but are still able to dedicate themselves to running this organization. Ideally, we want people who have had experiences or interaction with the nonprofit community and/or interested in learning about philanthropy.
Your position and role will be assisting with the following duties:
- Conduct research on existing and prospective prospects;
- Process donations and prepare acknowledgment letters and other correspondence;
- Support in keeping database records including tracking deadlines;
- Assist with the development and submission of proposals, pitches, reports and general funder updates and correspondence;
- Ensure donors are appropriately thanked and acknowledged on organizational print, web‐based material and at events
Requirements
Some qualities that we are looking for are the following:
- Enjoy a fast‐changing environment and be able to make the most of opportunities that may arise at short notice;
- Experience in or familiarity with non-profit fundraising desired but not required;
- Be a good team member, willing to be flexible in your responsibilities as the need arises; and,
- Have an active interest or some personal experience with working in a multi cultural community
