Volunteer Opportunity description

Project Description:

Directly impact the life of a stroke survivor, caregiver, and other callers seeking support. Help to provide information to individuals who often have questions after they or a loved one has had a stroke. This project is to ensure that no call is left unsanswered. The Stroke Help Line volunteer answers incoming calls from the 1-800-STROKES number and checks the voice mail box, responding appropriately to inquiries about resources and information.

Training on resources and stroke provided before volunteering. No prior knowledge of stroke necessary.

Volunteers set their own schedule between 9am and 4pm. Our greatest need is Wednesdays. Must be able to volunteer for a minimum 2 hour shift for at least 3 months.
