Location: Bertoua and different regions in the East province.
Description: Hope Foundation implements a number of development projects and at the same time supports various vulnerable groups in Cameroon with donations in form of school material, computers, medical facilities, clothing and more. In regards to our Shoe Aid Project (www.shoeaid.org), which is a shoe donation and shoe recycling program, we have collected a number of shoes which will be shipped to Cameroon soon for distribution. These shoes will then be distributed to various target groups in various locations of the East region of Cameroon. We shall start in various schools, sport centres and orphanages in Bertoua and then extend our distribution exercises to villages and cities around Bertoua.
Moreover, we shall extend the distribution of donations by donating mosquito nets to women and children in the above mentioned regions. This will go in line to support our Malaria Free Cameroon project. During this project volunteers will be expected to sensitise about the usage of mosquito nets and as well talk to some children in some schools about malaria and prevention methods.
Volunteers will arrive at the closest airport to Bertoua located in Yaounde- Nsimalen International Airport. Accommodation shall be in groups with other volunteers and travelling from A-B shall be through local transportation.
Needs: Volunteers should preferably be aged between 18 and 35 years. They should be highly motivated and have knowledge of English and / or French. No special qualifications are required.
