For the last five years, international volunteer groups have been actively working with the local people in Kemudo Village, Klaten Regency. The co-operation was initiated since massive earthquake in the region in 2006 caused significant damage in the village. Nowadays, the project is focusing on giving support in the educational and social sector for both local students and local people. Our project is mainly working with local schools such as elementary schools and kindergartens. We believe that by supporting these two sectors, we would encourage future generations to be more motivated to face and follow their dreams.

The volunteers will do small renovation works such as painting the local schools. The group will be also involved in educational activities with the children. The volunteers will mainly teach English and basic hygiene practices.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure time: Visit to the nearby World Heritage site and temples of Prambanan and/or Yogyakarta City.
Project language: English
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in local host families.
Location: Kemudo Village is located in Klaten regency, 25 km east of Yogyakarta City and 95 km south east of Semarang.
