If you love working with school children and adults, you'll love to volunteer on our Teaching English project in Costa Rica!

Speaking English is a high national priority in Costa Rica and most students are taught English throughout their school years. However, most English teachers are non-native speakers and the majority of students leave school unable to speak English.
As a participant on this project you will be working as a teacher's assistant helping with English conversational skills, pronunciation, teaching new words, and colloquial phrases.
It will be your duty to encourage the children to practice their English skills and to use the new words they are taught. Instilling confidence in their ability to speak English is very important as most tend to be shy of using the language in front of their peers.
You do not need to be a professional teacher to volunteer on this project. You just need to be able to speak English.
A part of this program involves you teaching conservational English classes with the adult community of San Ramon. The format of the class is that of an English Club so its very informal.
