Volunteer Opportunity description

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and establishing a recycling program at an 80-apartment residential facility for adults with visual impairments
  • Set up recycling bins around facility
  • Educate residents and staff about how and why to use the recycling program
  • Sort recycling as needed
  • Take recycling to a recycling facility as needed
  • Perform follow up educational sessions as needed

Qualifications: Excellent people skills, the ability to work with adults and elders who are blind or visually impaired, good organizational skills, knowledge of recycling in Chicago, experience leading educational sessions, access to a car is preferred
