Position Overview:
The Americas Department at American Jewish World Service seeks a volunteer to translate documents and materials from grantees in Latin America between Spanish and English. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, translating proposals, reports, website content, assessments, partner materials, grant making materials, testimonies, and other materials. Most translation needs are long term, but occasionally will need to quickly perform translations due to quick turnaround deadline of external stakeholder communication needs.
Position is expected to be for approximately 5 hours per week and is unpaid. However, person may attend open internal AJWS meetings, conferences, presentations, or brown bag lunches to be exposed to innovative and cutting edge human rights work in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Translator will report to Program Officer.
