Caregiver Coaches provide emotional support and practical assistance that family caregivers need to meet the necessities of daily life while their loved one is hospitalized or in treatment.
- Greet and welcome caregivers at the Montefiore Medical Center Caregiver Support Center. Listen and provide emotional support
- Provide information and assistance regarding resources, care, and available services. Assist caregiver in navigating hospital, services provided and location.
- Responsible for maintaining a warm and friendly environment in the Caregiver Support Center
- Make caregiver rounds in surgical waiting rooms, critical care and medical floors. Escort caregiver to the Caregiver Support Center
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, outstanding communication skills - speaking and listening; mature, positive, service-oriented individuals with compassion for patients and families; must be a motivator as well as work well as a team member and independently; volunteer a minimum 4 hour shift during busines hours on a weekly basis; a former caregiver to a family member, friend, or colleague dealing with chronic or terminal illness and other health issues preferable.
