VOLUNTEERS NEEDED- HOLIDAY PARTY W/ DISADVANTAGED TEENS

Posted on: December 3, 2012

Posted by: New York State Of Mind

Description

Its the most wonderful time of the year as the holidays of December close the year out and we prepare for 2013. Before we get ready for holiday vacations, time off from work, New Years parties and Egg Nog! , New York State of Mind will make one last stop on the "Season of Giving" as we return to Covenant House for our last community activity of 2012 as we have a YuleTide Bonanza w/ the teens of Covenant House

Before we get to the fun here's some info on Covenant House :

For millions of homeless kids, basic needs like a hearty meal, warm bed, and safe shelter are true luxuries. Instead of knowing the joys of childhood, every day these kids face the life-or-death dangers of living on the streets.

Covenant House was founded 38 years ago with the mission to help these homeless kids. Today, Covenant House is the largest privately-funded agency in the Americas providing food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and essential services to homeless, throwaway, and runaway kids.

And Now For The BlockBuster Holiday Party Details:

We've done many events @ Covenant House ranging from candied apple making to ice cream parties but for our last party of 2012 we go all out as for the first time NYSOM's Official DJ King Kat rocks the 1's and 2's and spins the latest hits for the teens of Covenant House as well as some of the classics (hint: any Michael Jackson fans out there?

A Holiday Party would not be complete without some food and NYSOM will be bringing the Holiday Ham for the teens we ask volunteers to bring the treats/desserts such as
