Children's Home Placement
The Umbrella Foundation is an Irish registered charity that has rescued over 380 orphaned, trafficked and vulnerable children in Nepal since 2005. Umbrella's first goal has always been to get children back with their families where possible. When reintegration is not possible, Umbrella is committed to supporting these children in their children's homes and their communities until such time when they can stand on their own two feet.
This three-month programme is an exciting opportunity to live and work closely with the children in our Childcare Homes. The role of the volunteer is that of a mentor or big brother/sister to the children. Volunteers help to nurture and develop the children as well as assisting with day-‐to-‐day activities in the childcare homes. This includes playing games, organising activities, helping with homework and walking the children to and from school.
-We are not a volunteer agency, we are a charity that accepts volunteers. The contribution we ask volunteers to raise covers their accommodation and food with the remaining amount going towards the direct care of our kids within our projects-
