The Venue Event Coordinator is critical to the success of Tix for Tots and such an important part of what we do. You are the face of Tix for Tots at our partner venues, such as Target Field, the Xcel Center, Science Museum, Children's Theatre, etc. In this role you will facilitate the distribution of donated tickets to low-income children (and other children in need) and their chaperones. By being at an event it gives us the opportunity to showcase what Tix for Tots is all about. You will receive materials on the organization's mission and orientation about the logistics of working at an event and distributing tickets. Volunteer opportunities are at cultural and sporting events at venues in the Twin Cities such as the Ordway Theater, Childrens Theater, SteppingStone Theatre, Saints Baseball, Twins Baseball, and Timberwolves Basketball. We ask you to commit to one event at a time. Volunteers arrive 60-75 minutes before the event, depending on venue, to set up and distribute tickets. The volunteer will remain at the booth or table for 20-30 minutes after the event has started. Upon completion of the event, the volunteer is asked to submit a brief report online to report attendance and any problems experienced at the event. Benefits include being a part of exposing children to cultural and sporting events to which they would otherwise not be exposed. Each volunteer opportunity provides the volunteer with tickets to attend the event, as well. By signing up as a Venue Event Coordinator, you do not make any specific commitments. As events come in that require a volunteer, you will be notified by email and given the opportunity to volunteer for that specific event. If you can't make it, you can simply wait for the next event.
