I Am We is agrass roots organization comprised of anthropologist, artist, educators and professionals that believe when communities are inspired the positively act and invest within their communities. In Chicago, many underserved communities are uninspired, and as a result they are stagnate, non-engaged and often vulnerable to abandonment, crime, poor health, poverty and miss valuable resources. I Am We understands to address this urgent issue, we need to engage disconnected communities. Therefore our goal is to be a leader in unifying communities through the medium of arts, inspiration, outreach, education, programming and advocacy. Now, all we need is you to be a key contributor in making our goal a reality.
The Associate Board is a new project for our organization and provides a unique chance to be part of molding the Associate Board into a powerhouse of support.
As part of the Associate Board you will have the opportunity to:
1. Serve a one-year term with an option to be elected for a second term;
2. Participate in 11 meetings annually (attend at least 9) and contribute or successfully solicit funding to support organizations sustainability.
3. Participate in the planning and coordination of 3 yearly social fundraisers within the Chicago community
The Associate Board is self-led and supported by I Am We staff. Members have the opportunity to take on leadership roles as an appointed executive team member (e.g., Treasurer, Secretary) or as a committee chair (e.g., Event Chair).
