Volunteer Opportunity description

Nourish Boston is seeking a qualified individual to join the Development team! Nourish Boston recently received 501(c)3 status and is now working toward applying for grants. This job entails finding appropriate grants and writing grant proposals. Nourish Boston has an open, entrepreneurial atmosphere, and we welcome applicants who are interested in gaining experience in grant writing. Individual should feel comfortable taking the lead on projects with limited direction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing appropriate grants
  • Determining timing of grant applications
  • Writing grants on behalf of Nourish Boston
  • Submitting necessary paperwork

Individual should have familiarity or interest in learning about Boston's local food and non-profit ecosystem. Individual should have an interest in and feel comfortable discussing topics related to Nourish Boston's mission, including, but not limited to:

  • Nutrition
  • Local food
  • Sustainability
  • CSAs
  • Environmental issues
  • Public health education
  • Chronic disease prevention

Note: this is a remote position with a time commitment of about 2-5 hours per week. Nourish Boston is a 501(c)3 organization and is 100% supported by unpaid volunteers.
