Volunteer Opportunity description

Reading Partners brings volunteers into local classrooms to serve as reading tutors to struggling students. You can help a child gain critical literacy skills, build confidence, and thrive in school.

Become a classroom champion.

Since 1999, volunteers like you have used our structured, easy-to-use curriculum to help over 12,000 students become excellent readers. Our students love their reading partners. By devoting one hour per week, our volunteers become skilled tutors, role models, and friends to their students.

Tutoring with Reading Partners is an easy way to make a big impact in the life of a child. When you work one-on-one with a student, you can change someone's life—maybe your own.

No prior experience is necessary to become a tutor.

Reading Partners currently works within 37 schools in the Bay Area, and seek volunteers to tutor Monday through Thursday, between 9 AM - 5 PM (hours may vary slightly from center to center).
