WorldTeach volunteers in Namibia will teach English, math, science, computers, and HIV/AIDS education in primary and secondary schools in rural locations, in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Volunteers will also help in integrating technology into classroom projects. Volunteers will live in housing provided by the school or with a host family. Volunteers assigned to teach English as a Second or Foreign Language in Namibia will be eligible to receive WorldTeach TEFL certification. click here for more info!
The semester program requires volunteers to be between the ages of 18 and 65 by the departure date and demonstrate a desire to teach.
Volunteers depart in early June 2014 for orientation and they must commit to 6 months of volunteering. Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis until April 1st, 2014.
The volunteer commitment covers roundtrip airfare, health and evacuation insurance, housing, and monthly stipend to cover basic living expenses. Volunteers must also have a Bachelor's degree (in any subject) and demonstrate a desire to teach. Volunteers need not be a US citizen, but must be a native English speaker.
