The Afghanistan Blind Women and Children foundation is solely based on dedicated volunteers who strive to serve and make a difference improving the lives of blind children and women in Afghanistan. If you want be part of this great cause, please join our Volunteer or Internship program. See below for a short summary of the different ways to get involve.

General Management: In charge of applying and enforcing ABWC policies. Managing members of the team and promoting creative thinking in ways to attract more volunteers and inters to join our team.

Human Resources: Responsible for managing our foundations operating systems and helping with the recruiting process. In charge of updating and postingjob opportunities for the foundation.

Finance: Handles the financial information of ABWC and helps our Board of Directors and the Human Resources department. Makes accurate resource allocation decisions.

Fundraising: Helps create fundraising opportunities and organizes fundraising events in local communities that will benefit the Foundation. Educational Services: This opportunity is focus for someone who has a background in English literature and who is fluent in Pashtu or Farsi. Responsibilities include but are not limited to educating and empowering ABWC's blind children and with that develop knowledge of science and technology.

Rehabilitation and Evaluation Services: Aids blind children by helping them acquire the necessary physical and mental skills to succeed and enter the workforce. We are looking for volunteers who have past experiences working at a professional rehabilitation setting.

Computer Technology: Responsible for empowering blind children through the usage of computer technology literacy and training.

Computer Technology Related to Blindness: Must be braille literate and be qualify to teach blind students from elementary through high school. In addition, help create training manuals to train instructors in Afghanistan on how to teach the "to use"Technology geared for the blind (i.e. Electronic Software, Jaws, System Access, Braillenote, Braillespeak, Braillelight, Slate Stylis, Braillewriter, Language Master (Talking Dictionary), Talking Calculator).

Health Services Department: Their primary focus is to connect with medical organizations both in the United States and in Afghanistan to promote the mission of ABWC. Responsible for creating partnerships and seeking funding from them.

Human Services: In the case of Human Services, we are looking for volunteers with experience in case management, case assessment, community assessment, outreach, community development, and research and development.

Research Development: Encharge of researching for information evolving fundraising, up to date

Web Design: Help the ABWC maintain and update its website with current events and happenings. This is a major need for the organization at this time and will only involve occasional commitments of 4 or 5 hours per month.

Media Communication: Seeking experienced individuals in the media industry to find ways to spread the mission of ABWC. The foundation focus on working with primarily with print media.
