Become a Friendly Visitor, develop new friendships across generations and help an elder age with dignity.
You can help enrich the life of a frail isolated elder by chatting over a cup of tea, taking a walk together, reading aloud, and learning about life in a different generation.
Friendly Visitor volunteers visit seniors on a weekly basis, providing companionship and friendship. The opportunity is tailored to meet the specific needs and interests of the individual volunteer, and all volunteers receive ongoing support from the JF&CS Friendly Visitor Program Coordinator.
Volunteers are needed in multiple locations around the Greater Boston area; including Newton, Brookline, Brighton, Needham, and Boston.
