The Organization
Meals On Wheels of San Francisco is committed to the belief that all seniors have the right to live independently with dignity and respect in their own homes for as long as it is safely possible. It is our mission to provide isolated homebound seniors in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization. We believe in delivering more than a meal - we are nourishing the whole person.
There are several ways to volunteer with Meals On Wheels of San Francisco to fit your schedule and specific needs (one-time/long-term, group/individual)! Here are the next available training dates for some of the volunteer programs we offer:
Home Delivered Groceries: Thursday, May 9th from 10am until 12noon at 1375 Fairfax Ave. SF, CA 94124
Home Safety & Urgent Needs program: Tuesday, May 14th from 6pm until 8pm at 1590 Bryant St. SF, CA (Sports Basement Potrero)
Spring Cleaning All Year Round: Tuesday, May 14th from 6pm until 8pm at 1590 Bryant St. SF, CA (Sports Basement Potrero)
Companionship Volunteering; Friendly Visitor and Grocery Shopper volunteering: Saturday, May 18th from 9:30am until 12noon at 1375 Fairfax Ave. SF, CA 94124
