Volunteer Opportunity description

We are starting from scratch a Community Garden in Holden Heights to create a sustainable food source of fresh, nutrious foods for the homeless & impoverished communities we serve.

Before our first plant date in the Fall we need help with preparing the lot by clearing some old toys & debris away and beginning to Till the space - or at best mow the lawn very low.

You can help us to create beautiful Community Garden by volunteering to weed, mulch, plant, and more! Plots Holder opportunities are available. Work Group volunteers are welcome, along with schools, clubs & student interns. We are really in need of gardening tools, seeds & raised garden bed materials to help make this Outreach Project beneficial to the community. We are starting in the impoverished community of Holden Heights and have future goals to create more sustainable gardens across the Tri-County area. is Please visit our site for more details on this Community Outreach Project and other ways you may be able to help with the garden: http://www.agratefulmind.org/outreach-projects/sustainable-food-gardens/
