POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development Manager will be an integral member of the JWW staff based in our Encino offices. This position involves ongoing collaboration and extensive teamwork with Jewish World Watch’s Executive Director, Board of Directors and Development Committee, as well as JWW staff, to execute a comprehensive strategic approach to all of JWW’s fundraising, including major gifts, annual campaigns, planned giving, special events, corporate donations, grant solicitation and in-kind resources. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Commitment to the organizational mission 

·        5 years minimum experience in professional fundraising preferred.

·        Foundation grant research and grant-writing experience.

·        Superior writing and verbal communication skills required.

·        Ability to manage relationships at the executive level

·        Experience in collaborating with board leadership and staff team.

·        Strong computer and analytical skills.

·        Budget analysis, business development and negotiation skills preferred.

·        Knowledge of Giftworks or similar donor-database management software is preferred.

·        Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan development activities

·        Collaborate with the Executive Director and members of JWW’s Board of Directors to create and continuously update a case for support that increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization.

·        Develop and implement annual fundraising plan, including objectives and tactics to reach yearly funding goals and corresponding expense budget for managing all aspects of JWW’s fundraising program. 

·        Monitor effectiveness of activities against achieved results. Modify plans where necessary from solicited feedback.

·        Monitor trends and adapt fundraising strategies as necessary.

Donor relations

·        Help to grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of new and existing donors, working with JWW Development committee and Executive Director.

·        Help to develop and execute a strategy to maintain ongoing relationships with major and annual individual donors.


Foundation Relations

·        Manage relations with current foundations.

·        Research, identify, and cultivate prospective foundation donors.

·        Write and submit grant applications, proposals, and letters of inquiry and work with grant writing consultant(s) on major grants.

·        Track deadlines for proposal and reporting deadlines, and ensure submissions are completed on time and appropriately.


Organize development activities

·        Work with JWW staff in the planning and execution of special fundraising events including an annual gala, parlor meetings and the annual Walk to End Genocide to optimize the funds generated for the organization.

·        Identify potential sponsorships from corporate, community and individual prospects.

·        Prepare regular reports on progress and budgets related to fundraising.
