    Part of World Volunteer's mission is to harness the passion of young people and introduce them to meaningful volunteer experiences that benefit some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Education in the 21st century has moved beyond the walls of the classroom. Students are eager to engage with the world and take part in shaping it for the better. As a provider of these educational experiences, WV is now looking for new trip leaders that are eager to be part of our diverse team in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, & Malaysia.

    Job description

    As a WV trip leader you will work with a team of local guides, other trip leaders, account managers and logistics partners to carry out volunteer programs that are usually a week long for a group of 15-25 students. As a trip leader, you will be responsible for the health and safety of the group, making sure the program runs according to an established itinerary. Additionally, trip leaders guide students though a variety of exciting activities such as facilitating group discussions, working on building projects, hiking though the jungle and encouraging interactions between volunteers and local community members.

    Essential Qualifications/Experience

    • Experience leading student trips
    • Based in South East Asia, ideally Malaysia, Thailand or Laos
    • First aid training
    • Fluent in English

    Desired Qualifications/Experience

    • Good physical health
    • Passion for travel and education
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent leadership skills
    • Good team player but can also work independently
    • Ability to lead by doing
    • Good problem solver
    • A "can do" attitude
    • Ability to live and lead in basic living conditions
    • College degree
    • Experience working in NGO/development sector
    • Malay, Laos or Thai language skills
