The Senior Accountant will be responsible for executing on all aspects of accounting operations, including but not limited to monthly close, bank reconciliations, A/P, A/R, fixed assets, prepaids, general ledger, assistance in payroll journal entries. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role has great potential for growth.  Come join a fantastic start up team! You will work with all levels of functional teams including VP’s.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute on all aspects of accounting operations, including but not limited to A/P, A/R, fixed assets, prepaids, general ledger and treasury
  • Own the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting models as a key participant in the financial close process
  • Lead and assist in field work for interim and annual audits
  • Assist with researching and resolving technical accounting issues
  • Corresponding with our accounting team in Spain to assist with close
  • Ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Combination of Big 4 CPA firm background and industry experience
  • Detail oriented and can operate in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Quickbooks online experience a plus
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Experience in renewable energy or electricity markets is a plus

Required Skills / Capabilities

3+ years of corporate accounting experience, with increasing levels of responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Excel & analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Financial Statements (i.e. income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements)
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and to collaborate with all levels of management
  • Outstanding ability to analyze and articulate complex sets of metrics into a clear written analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in dynamic, demanding, and high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional work product
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and with the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
  • Strong discipline and self-starter

Minimum Education Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent work experience
