We are accepting applications for an attorney to support discovery, including e-discovery, in our whistleblower, False Claims Act, and other complex litigation cases.

While most of our work presently remains remote to safeguard our employees and clients and their families, our hope is that this attorney will be based in our Chicago, Boulder, or Washington, DC office once it is safe to resume more regular office hours. Hybrid and remote schedules are negotiable.

Required:

  • Litigation experience, with substantial experience in matters involving complex fact patterns and large volumes of documents
  • Facility with legal technology
  • Experience with litigating civil rights, whistleblower, False Claims Act, and/or government contracting cases
  • Thorough understanding of discovery and evidentiary rules, privileges, and doctrines
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter
  • Strong commitment to ethics, justice, teamwork, and respect for human dignity
  • Licensed in Illinois, Colorado, or Washington, DC

Job Duties:

  • Manage and conduct document discovery, including evaluating the most effective and efficient platforms for production, storage, and review
  • Collaborate with other members of the litigation team to develop legal and factual theories necessary to win cases
  • Along with other members of the litigation team, identify discovery sources (including third-parties) and types to pursue to effectively build case
  • Support briefing of dispositive motions and trial teams
  • Supervise contract attorneys working on document reviews, including determining best practices and strategies for conducting such reviews
  • Analyze documents as part of the firm’s process of evaluating potential cases
  • Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
