Specific Minimum Qualifications for Receptionist/ Records Clerk

  • 2+ years experience in customer relation services or related experience
  • Competent with all aspect of computer use, data entry, programs, and willing to learn
  • Significant demonstrated skills with time management and well organized
  • Excellent empathy and listening skills, ability to put patient first, telephone skills, pleasant voice
  • Extremely competent with details, alphabetizing and mathematical skills
  • Ability to handle money competently
  • Experience in Medical office a plus, but not required

Primary Duties of the Post

  1. Prepare all charts for patient services
  2. Correctly re-file completed charts
  3. Open and close center, monitor staff lounge and reception area, maintain front desk supplies and cleanliness
  4. Complete daily close-out, prepare accounting, assist surgical and gynecologic coordinators with schedules
  5. Assist petite accounts with superbills, pull charts as requested or assigned
  6. Follow universal precaution per OSHA and CDC guidelines
  7. Attend staff in services and trainings. Participate in annual review of performance evaluation. Recommend subsequent development of new services, procedures and resources appropriate to the center
  8. Review standing orders, best practices and protocols, guidelines to insure that applicable NAF Standards and Guidelines, and procedures are implemented. Maintain all logs and reports as required for the position
  9. Follow all personnel guidelines including arriving on time, maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance and maintain a personal resource notebook/file for daily reference and use
