Musician and bandleader Paul Winter is seeking a "Nature Marketing Maven" to collaborate in creating a greatly expanded constituency for the music and message of his "World of Living Music." This person must have deep experience in communicating with and marketing to people who love nature.

For half a century, Paul Winter has celebrated the creatures and habitats of the natural world with his saxophone, his compositions, his Paul Winter Consort, his Living Music label, and his unique genre of "Earth Music.” His musical odyssey has long embraced the traditions of the world's cultures, as well as the wildlife voices of what he refers to as "the greater symphony of the Earth."

Paul Winter's concert tours and recording expeditions have taken him to 52 countries and to wilderness areas on six continents. He has recorded 53 albums, of which seven have been honored with Grammy Awards. Since 1980, Paul and the Consort have been artists-in-residence at the world's largest cathedral, New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine, where they have presented over 200 unique events, including their legendary annual Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice Celebrations, as well as their ecological Missa Gaia/Earth Mass.

In response to the urgency of the mega-crises that now beleaguer our Earth, Winter has scheduled a major roll-out with his music for the next year, in his video-streams, albums, and events.

Winter is convinced that only if enough people come to cherish the Earth as their home, and be willing to fight for it with our innate parental instincts for protecting family and home, will there be a chance for us to turn around this downward spiral of climate chaos, biodiversity loss, and the plagues of destruction we have set in motion. Only an awakening of heart can bring this about. Information, no matter how shocking, how eloquent, is quickly forgotten. It's the way we function as human beings the heart remembers; the mind forgets.

Winter is a long-time participant and supporter of a great range of environmental organizations; but he believes that they are mostly tilting at symptoms.

Winter feels strongly that with his three major offerings (video and audio) scheduled for release over the course of the next year, his music has now the greatest chance in his lifetime to reach a worldwide audience that will resonate with it, and thereby consummate this music's potential to make a significant contribution to humanity and the Earth.

The pandemic of the past year provided Paul his first ever opportunity to stay off the road, and be at home, working in depth in his barn-studio on these long-growing projects. They are:

  • Solstice Saga: This is a two-and-a-half-hour video retrospective woven from footage of 40 years of Paul Winter's annual Winter Solstice Celebrations at New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Because the Cathedral has been closed for performances for the past year, and will be this December as well, Winter is now for the second time presenting the annual event as a pay-per-view video stream. This year, with comprehensive marketing, Winter and colleagues intend to draw a much bigger audience.
  • This Glorious Earth: An anthology of 24 songs and compositions inspired by and celebrating various creatures and habitats Winter has encountered over the past 50 years, around the world. This will be released in the Spring of 2022 for Earth Day. Winter feels that This Glorious Earth can be well-used to catalyze interest within the nature-loving community, toward exploring possible collaborations with nature-warriors and organizations. Listen here:
  • Flyways: A celebration of the Great Bird Migration from Southern Africa up the Rift Valley through the Middle East to Eurasia. This is Winter's most epic project yet, now in its 10th year of development. It is a musical chronicle of this "Old World" flyway in which half a billion birds of 300 species migrate, incorporating the indigenous music of the 16 cultures over which they fly, interwoven with the voices of the birds. Winter's principal forum for his music during the past 40 years has been New York's iconic Cathedral of St. John the Divine. He regards the magnificent and titanic Gothic space of this largest cathedral in the world as the most extraordinary acoustic and visual performing venue in North America, besides the Grand Canyon.

To connect with nature-loving people of all kinds in many places, to awaken (reawaken) their innate love of nature (which most of us had as children). In the past, Winter's music hasn't had the benefit of masterful marketing. His dream is to find a true kindred spirit who resonates with his endeavors and wants to help share them with the world.
