REPORTING TO Program Manager and Executive Director

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

KNOWN Coworking is a dynamic coworking community connecting people across their fields of expertise, endeavors, and experiences. Located in the historical Palladium Building, KNOWN is a space for serendipitous networking in the heart of New Haven’s Downtown 9th Square. KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab (KGL) is based out of KNOWN Coworking and is a respected and valued entrepreneur support organization (ESO) providing quarterly business intensive resources for BIPOC-owned businesses. KGL also provides access and connections to local business owners and industry leaders. KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab facilitates mentoring opportunities, training and development, networking, and use of the KNOWN Coworking space.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

In this dual position, the Program Assistant will support the administrative efforts of KNOWN Coworking and KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab. BIPOC candidates preferred.

 

KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab Program Assistant Duties

Under the direction of KNOWN’s Executive Director and KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab Program Manager, the KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the strategic management of programs, projects, and partnerships to establish relevant entrepreneurial programming, training, mentorship, and community relationships in New Haven.

 

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

●     Coordinating and executing key program activities and events, i.e. networking, weekly training sessions, program graduation, etc.

●     Ensuring all participant, mentor, instructor, and additional surveys are disseminated, completed, and partnering with Program Analyst (future position) to ensure data is analyzed and summarized

●     Communicating with Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager to assist in executing the defined marketing strategy

●     Responding to inquiries, questions, or concerns from Founder, Program Manager, business participants, mentors, instructors, and subject matter experts (SMEs)

●     Creating, drafting, and disseminating KGL external-facing communications, emails, surveys

●     Partnering with Program Analyst (future position) to provide survey data, program information, and other data-related information

●     Representing KGL in community initiatives and at events that support our brand goals/strategies 

●     Documenting and cataloging strategic partnerships with participating businesses, local ESOs, nonprofit organizations, incubators, accelerators, Chambers of Commerce, and businesses to ensure key successes in KGL’s community engagement efforts 

●     Collecting data regarding KGL program funder requests and provide to Program Analyst (future position) to assess goals, objectives, metrics, and purpose

●     Assisting in reviewing, editing, and researching grant writing and reporting initiatives

●     Designing and implementing evaluation tools to gauge and ensure impact 

 

KNOWN Coworking Program Assistant Duties

 

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

●     Register coworking members in Nexudus system

●     Support font desk operations

●     Facilitate tours of coworking space for visitors

●     Perform a variety of administrative duties in collaboration with Coworking Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS

●     A Bachelor’s degree is preferred

●     Previous participation in small business accelerators, incubators, or programs

●     Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program needs and be present at community and organizational functions

●     Strong project management experience

●     Excellent communication and organization skills

●     Strong command of MS Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

●     High energy, initiative, and creativity are desired

●     Demonstrated flexibility and creativity necessary in a “start-up” environment

●     Strategic and systemic thinker, able to draw new insights from complicated information

●     Attention to detail and accuracy

SCHEDULING

 

KNOWN Coworking Scheduling Requirements - Eight (8) per week

●     Monday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

○     Schedule subject to change

 

KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab Scheduling Requirements - Twelve (12) hours per week including:

●     Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

●     Four (4) remaining hours at Program Assistant’s availability

 

 

COMPENSATION

This is a contract position with an hourly wage of $25/hour for 20 hours/week from August 28, 2021, to April 30, 2022. Position also includes complimentary access to KNOWN Coworking with a flex desk.
