About the Role


Purpose is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant who will provide daily support to a Purpose executive and manage our Executive Assistant team. This role is a balancing act: managing the day-to-day tasks of any phenomenal EA — leading all aspects of schedules, preparing for meetings, and coordinating events — in addition to higher-order work like handling sensitive information and relationships, taking on special projects, and proactively solving problems of all magnitude. Our ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented and organized, thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and has proven success developing individuals and managing a high performing team. 


This full time staff position is based in Purpose’s NYC office in the Flatiron district. Interested candidates should include a cover letter with their application, highlighting their relevant experience and explaining their interest in the role.




Provide timely, efficient administrative support to a Purpose executive. Including, but not limited to: 

  • Manage the executive’s calendar, including heavy and complex scheduling, on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis ensuring alignment with key priorities
  • Correspond proactively with external contacts and internal team members alike to schedule and coordinate meetings and calls 
  • Screen and prioritize incoming internal and external inquiries as necessary
  • Maintain regular daily communication with the executive, ensuring close adherence to changing calendars and priorities
  • Liaise with the broader Purpose team to ensure meetings are effectively staffed, prepared for, and followed up on. This may include preparing briefs, taking notes, and coordinating follow-ups
  • Coordinate onsite and offsite meetings, including catering needs, briefing the Purpose executive, material and room preparations
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements
  • Track expenses and submit monthly expense reports 
  • Streamline tasks and priorities for the executive
  • Support with special projects as needed


Manage the Purpose Executive Assistant team. Including, but not limited to: 

  • Acting as a Professional Development Manager for 3 Executive Assistants, ensuring they receive the feedback and development they need to continue to grow in their role and career
  • Acting as a team leader to 
    • Ensure the Purpose EA team has tight internal communication and works well as a unit to maximize efficiency and improve culture across the organization
    • Align EAs and executives across organizational goals and priorities
    • Create, maintain and evolve transparent systems that better allow the EA team to plan ahead, support leaders, and equip leaders with what they need to do their best work



  • 2-4 years previous experience as an executive or personal assistant to a senior staff member or equivalent relevant experience
  • 1-2 years previous experience as a manager or team leader
  • A keen eye for detail and meticulous organization skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive and able to anticipate needs
  • Responds well to new challenges and able to adapt priorities accordingly
  • Remains calm and focused in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive company information and high level of integrity
  • Comfortable working with all levels of clients, visitors and employees, including senior executives
  • Able to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • Experience with Google Suite, including Gmail and Google Calendar
  • Proficient with Mac systems and software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility on work hours
