In order for OAI to effectively consult to our clients, we must recruit, cultivate, manage, and retain talented team members. This position will be the direct day-to-day manager for all Human Resource functions for our firm of 40+ team members. They will work closely with the Human Resources team at the firm. The position will be based out of Washington, DC with some minimal travel to our New York office throughout the year. This is a new position for the firm and we are looking for someone to build and further develop our human resource capacities.


It is an exciting time for the firm as we are growing in size and scale. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and professional human resources specialist to join our team and be a catalyst in assisting the firm get to the next level of growth.

Primary Responsibilities:


• Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.

• Performs benefits administration working with various vendors and brokers to include renewal management, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.

• Participates in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); helps coordinate the use of temporary employees; and writes and places advertisements.

• Assists in organizational training and development efforts.

• Assists in administration of the compensation program; supports the performance appraisal process.

• Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.

• Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed

• Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

• Manages interns, as needed, on various administrative projects

• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in related field preferred. SHRM certification a plus!

• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience working in a human resources capacity; experience in benefits administration and project management preferred; experience in and/or knowledge of consulting environments is a plus• Excellent verbal and written communication – professional and succinct

• Ability to form relationships with and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people

• Experience facilitating meetings, conducting interviews, and presenting to senior leaders• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

• Ability to balance the needs of multiple constituents

• Self-starter who is comfortable executing on projects with little direction and handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

• Desire to succeed in a dynamic, demanding, self-driven atmosphere – entrepreneurial spirit and “can do attitude” a must!

• Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis

• Curiosity and solution-oriented problem solving skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems

• Experience with payroll platforms, specifically Paychex Flex is a must!
