We seek an experienced human resources professional to join the Operations team at Grants Plus, a woman-owned, women-led business with 20+ staff members in multiple states and a vision to continue on our growth trajectory.

The Human Resources Manager will report to the Managing Director of Operations and coordinate closely with supervisors and members of the Leadership Team to drive effective and efficient HR process, support team-wide professional development, and contribute directly to the expansion and excellence of the Grants Plus team. S/he will not directly supervise any employees but may assume supervision responsibilities in the future.

A successful candidate for the Human Resources Manager position will demonstrate experience and knowledge of:

  • Human resources process: S/he has experience implementing HR functions, preferably in a small or medium business setting. At Grants Plus, s/he will manage crucial functions related to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and off-boarding. S/he will also envision and improve systems and process, and perform data analysis, related to these functions.
  • Compensation and benefits: At Grants Plus we offer competitive salaries and an array of benefits to our employees. The Human Resources Manager will be accountable to fully understand and articulate details of our benefits plans to new and existing employees, assist employees in accessing these benefits, and facilitate updates, changes, and adoption of new options in our benefits portfolio. S/he will also track compensation details, stay current on industry benchmarks, and advise on compensation planning and adjustments.
  • Professional development: The Human Resources Manager will plan, coordinate, track, and contribute to administering professional development experiences and opportunities for members of the team, personally and professionally.
  • Performance management: S/he will facilitate process for conducting firm-wide performance reviews and manage other routines and systems for encouraging and measuring individual team performance.
  • Contractor management. We maintain a pool of experienced contractors who contribute to providing exceptional services to our clients. The Human Resources Manager will manage contractor recruitment, vetting, onboarding, and integration into services and company functions.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably in a small- or medium-sized business with a remote workforce.
  • At least 2 years in an HR-focused role with leadership accountabilities for administering HR functions.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and/or nonprofit fundraising and grant seeking is a plus but not essential or expected.
  • An eagerness to positively contribute to our company culture and values, including to our commitment to being an anti-racist firm that strives towards building and maintaining greater diversity, equity, and inclusion within Grants Plus, the grant seeking and fundraising profession, and the nonprofit consulting sector.

Reports to: Managing Director of Operations

Location: The Engagement Strategist/Engagement Specialist will join a remote work environment, working from anywhere in the U.S. When travel can be safely resumed, occasional travel (likely not more than once per quarter) will be expected to the firm's main office in Cleveland, Ohio, or other locations.

Salary

$60,000 - $75,000This is a full-time salaried position. Salary will be based on experience; the salary band for this role starts at $60,000.
