EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT (Full or Part-Time)

POSITION OVERVIEW


The Emergency Preparedness Associate Consultant (EPAC) provides planning, training, and administrative support to BME Strategies, a Massachusetts-based public health consulting firm. The EPAC assists the Executive Director of BME Strategies in serving client needs primarily focused on the construction of emergency preparedness planning documents, conducting exercises and trainings, developing and analyzing client data, and compiling and presenting correspondence and reports. This person works directly with clients as a primary lead for consulting projects. The EPAC also serves as a liaison between community agencies, institutions, providers and coalitions, as assigned by the Executive Director, to fulfill the goals of BME Strategies.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


·     Provides assistance to the Executive Director of BME Strategies in carrying out the core functions of firm, i.e., the construction of emergency preparedness planning documents, conducting exercises and trainings, building medical reserve corps (MRC) and the development of reports.


·     Assists in preparation of applications, reports and in the operation of funded grant programs.


·     Assists local public health departments with the completion of federally mandated emergency preparedness deliverables.


·     Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents; develops and maintains data, and performs routine analyses and calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports.


·     Assists with the development of policies, procedures, and protocols for public health services in consultation with staff.


·     Assists with assessing the needs for health promotion and disease and disability prevention programs for cities and towns and helps strategize appropriate interventions for meeting these needs.


·     Develops and coordinates health education programs and materials.


·     Identifies the need for health promotion and disease prevention programs and works to meet these needs.


·     Assists with social marketing efforts and community education programs, as assigned.


·     Performs other appropriate functions as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


The EPAC should have emergency preparedness planning experience. A Master’s degree in public health or a related field is preferred. Valid driver’s license also is required. The position requires excellent oral and written communications skills and organization skills.
