Primary responsibilities of Program Managers are the following (1) program management, (2) organisational knowledge management and (3) program strategy and design. They work under the guidance of the Directors and/or Program Directors. We are looking for exceptional individuals, driven by a keen desire to deliver social impact. The Program Manager will provide project management for a number of programs in the research and communications field. Typical tasks include:

Program Management

  •  Developing project management plans, Gantt charts and resource plans
  •  Developing technical reports, project presentations, and program updates
  • Overseeing the coordination of project partners e.g. consultants, media, civil society
  • Conduct internal and external training/workshops on a need basis
  • Monitoring of project KPIs
  • Project budget management, including cost tracking
  • Organisations of project documentation
  • Management of project logistics, including travel 

Knowledge Management

  • Contributing to Magenta databases – past performance records, contact lists, partner testimonials, meeting notes
  • Conducting regular country analysis and stakeholder maps 
  • Development of project case studies for marketing and program development purposes

Program Development 

  • With the oversight of Magenta Directors and/or Program Directors design projects, including theories of change, strategic frameworks, activity design, M&E frameworks, resource plans, financial plans
  • Contributing to and sometimes leading on proposal preparation and submission


  • 3-6 years professional experience;
  • 2-3 years of project management experience;
  • 2-3 years of communications, research or M&E experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in the Africa and/or the Middle East;
  • Top tier university graduates only;
  • Robust logic chain analytics and strong general analytical skills;
  • Familiarity with project management cycles;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Highly numerate, with strong commercial acumen;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities;
  • Demonstrated desire for excellence and an ability to inspire others to attain professional excellence;
  • Demonstrated passion and interest for the country of application;
  • Innovation driven;
  • Technological fluency;
  • English and Arabic a must (French highly desired);
  • Willingness to live and work in developing/post-crisis settings;
  • Good sense of humour, personable and demonstrated ability to build networks;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to get hands dirty;
  • Software fluency: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SPSS, Office 365


  • Some long hours including evening and weekends to complete tasks or attend events
  • May involve working in regions that are remote and lack basic modern infrastructure 

Level of Language Proficiency

English and Arabic a must (French highly desired);
