HereTogether is a new organization bringing together service providers, business leaders, elected officials, and advocates who believe homelessness in the Portland Metro region is a solvable problem. Our work is focused on public education, community engagement, and building a coalition to support a region-wide response that targets the roots of the homelessness and matches proven solutions with the scale and scope of the crisis. Our team is seeking a bright, compassionate, and driven Executive Director who understands how to bring diverse stakeholders together to reach a shared goal. This person will work closely with HereTogether’s board of directors, advisory committee, and community partners to bring their voices to the table, develop strong relationships, and guide the coalition in creating a collaborative framework to combat and prevent homelessness at a large scale. Experience in persuading public opinion or managing political campaigns is important. The Executive Director works with an outside media consulting firm, manages donor relationships and the general operations of the organization, and oversees a small team.

Required skills and experience:

●     Strategic planning, communication and strong writing skills.

●    Understanding of and commitment to racial equity.

●     Supervising staff and managing operations of an organization.

●     Experience in planning and execution of public education and advocacy campaigns.

Preferred experience and skills:

●     Working in collaboration with public/private partners, board members, elected officials.

●     Fundraising, including donor cultivation, management, and recognition.

●     Experience with affordable housing and homelessness policy.

●     Bonus: bi-lingual
